ELECTIONS ARE THE PROBLEM. SORTITION IS THE SOLUTION.

Both the ecological and the social crisis are more than obvious. However, politicians don’t react at all, or they don’t react enough. Except for stubborn dumbness, this is deliberate: they want to be re-elected. So the real problem are elections. They keep powerful people from deciding what – at the best – they know would be urgent and necessary for the survival of civilization.
And what if the fundamental cause of partisan judges, partisan jurisdiction and party fights were… parties – as such?!🤔 Then voting wouldn’t be part of the solution but part of the problem.
So parties and elections are to be replaced by something more democratic, more appropriate to tackle the challenges of our century: Sortition.
Here’s a model by Terry Bouricius:

There are some others, but they have one essential principle in common:
• (limited) power by sortition only
• individual initiative, interests, excellence…: great, but without any power
